Job Summary:
This position reports directly to the department lead. This position is responsible for the coordination, OSHA, HSE, and USG contract required training, the position is 80/20 with 80% outside and 20% inside work. The technical instructor will monitor and provide classes regarding various training requirements for personnel to assure compliance with regulatory and other requirements specified by OSHA, HSE, and USG requirements. Many of the training topics are vehicle-related; this position requires CDL. The technical instructor arranges for a trainer, coordinates training dates, training location, training time, and targeted personnel. The technical instructor will also arrange for the required audio-visual resources needed to complete the training. The technical instructor will maintain the training records database including electronics and hard copy as needed or required. The technical instructor must be highly organized and be able to effectively communicate professionally to all levels of the organization. He/she also must have good skills regarding various computers training software including excellent word processing skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide training for new employees to include vehicle operator training for small utility vehicles and forklifts, operator training for tactical military trucks and trailers, ground guiding, safety courses, and additional topics.
Help coordinate Employee Training activities, plan and schedules training events, coordinate for instructor and equipment support; internal training and training conducted by outside agencies such as colleges.
Assist instructors in preparation for training classes and events.
Assist with coordinating New Hire training event for new employees, establishes and maintains the training file in training database.
Maintains Employee Training and Instructor Database, updates as training rosters/certificates as completed, and posts to Share Drive.
Issues employee Record of Operator Training permits, IAW SOP.
Prepares Instructor Certification letters at the request of Functional Area Managers.
Performs administrative functions of Equipment Training Program.
Performs other duties as assigned at the direction of the Department Supervisor
Following Procedures: Adhering to strict military and federal guidelines regarding vehicle use.
Perform duties IAW documented policies, procedures, work instructions and verbal guidance from Department Supervisor.
Responsible for updating/maintaining associated Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), reviews, drafts revisions and interim changes, processes proposed changes through Quality/Auditor Section for publishing.
